Alligator Faux Leather

This fabric is thin and flexible compared to the upholstery version at craft stores. This can be cut with sturdy scissors and sewn with a leather sewing needle at home, not requiring special heavy duty manufacturing machines.The texture was an important detail for me. To be able to see and feel all the ridges of the varying sizes of scales. My color was 'saddle' and I'm happy that in-person it is a lighter brown and less orange than it appeared on my monitor. Price is fair.

The color was perfect for my project! I redid my entire tables and chairs and it matched up great! Fabric was easy to work with! I got two chairs per yard with extras but the extra wasn’t enough for me to do another chair without it being in patches !

I was worried about the metallic gold accent on the vinyl. I was concerned that in person it would be “tacky” and make the finished piece look cheap. However, the finished product was exactly what I was hoping to achieve.The texture is flawless for setting use. I despise fake leather, but I needed something more forgiving, because these stools will be tucked under a table at our lake house (lot of wet bathing suits and pups jumping on them)! The feel of this vinyl isn’t sticky, like you’d get on cheap diner seats.It’s thinner, and more flexible, so there is a bit of stretch as I pulled it around the sides and corners. That give allowed me to staple it with a nice, tight finished product, which is far better than I expected!Back to the “feel”. It’s more like real leather. Not sticky, and more matte, so less likely to make your bare legs stick to the seat (maybe this only happens in the south/ Texas in the summer, but trust me, it’s gross and a pet peeve of mine).Initially, I was only going to get this for this little table. However, I am so pleased with the vinyl overall, that I am going to order it in another color for the bar stools in the kitchen! Very happy with this purchase.

I absolutely ❤️ this faux alligator fabric. I do minor redecoration in my home annually which I can do on a dime because I see & reupholstered I’ve worked with this type of fabric many times, but none as beautiful, easy to sew and ‘real-looking’ as this.However, I did have to order 3 times before I received the right color because some of them are NOT true to the color in the pic. The 3rd order was a charm for me!

This faux leather is almost black with a hint of dark brown. It has a pattern that looks like alligator and the texture isn’t too pronounced but isn’t flat either.The back is a felt type fabric which might make it difficult to use this faux leather to create purses or wallets without some kind of lining.I plan on using it to cover some books.
